New York Giants news and notes: Sunday morning reading material
Need something to do this morning while you wait for this afternoon's kickoff?
Here are a couple of good reads.
- Mike Garafolo has a terrific piece on cornerback Aaron Ross. It's a revealing look at how Ross has struggled not only with his hamstring injury, but with his interest in the game the past couple of seasons.
- Steve Serby of the New York Post has a Q&A with the emerging young wide receiver Mario Manningham.
- Picking on the Oakland Raiders is always fun. So, if you haven't read it already, make sure you read Jeff Garcia's rip job on his former team.
- I am not sure what the point of this bizarre post at Arrowhead Pride is, but I think it will be the Giants who get the last laugh this afternoon.
- Over at the Daily Norseman, they are calling Monday's Packers-Vikings matchup 'The Most Important Game Ever.' I think the Norseman is joking. Sort of.

Don't know what to take from this whole
Ross is disinterested in football thing. Its not something you want to hear, but its also something I can understand cuz the guy keeps getting these nagging injuries.
I doubt that if he was healthy and playing every week that we’d hear this from him.
And…..Did YOU have you’re HAM today yet?

That chiefs post
would have been more acceptable if he hadn’t blatantly ripped off Drew Magary’s snack and beer of the week routine. Well plagiarized sir.
Homer: Aw, twenty dollars! I wanted a peanut!
Homer's Brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!
Homer: Explain how!
Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services!
Homer: Woo-hoo!

that beer of the week has gotten me pretty thirsty...
but then I realized its quarter to 10 and I’m still sipping my coffee.

Chiefs thing was weird
I’d feel insulted, but I’m still confused. Although props for putting in Carl from ATHF. I’m so bummed they didn’t bring that back last year or this year, those posts during the playoff run were just legendary.

if you've seen any of the ATHF
shows since then…really since the movie came out, they’ve been insistent on not being funny anymore.
Aside from the hand banana thing and a few others, I don’t think I laughed at all through the 5th DVD.

To be fair...
That Handbanana episode was good enough to justify the entire season.

That bizarre post is beyond bizarre!!
What is in their drinking water?..I never thought folks in KC were that nuts..Are they suffering some sort of depression or something?

Good post Ed
I have to say I’m extremely surprised to Hear Aaron Ross talking like this. I really hope it is just a case of being “down in the dumps” over the injuries. He is a book end to our DB’s and needs to get healthy and play a few games and see how he feels after that. I’m shocked that he would go public with his personal feelings as he struggles to get healthy.
GO NY GIANTS!!

I agree with you..
I believe he is “down in the dumps”..Just like KP is..There is nothing worse than wanting to be on the field playing, but can’t physically..I’m sure the staff will work with him and get him back on track..An injured player’s mindset is just as important as re-habbing the injury. Mentally they feel lost when they are hurt.. He’ll get back and be motivated.

Ross
I think he was more ‘down in the dumps’ about football last year. But, the whole thing is something to be concerned about.

Odd KC Post
Besides it being a poor excuse for an article (and being pretty much incomprehensible to boot) and the page being a hot mess – I can’t understand their fixation with the “Giants are Gay” theme.
I mean c’mon – they have pictures of rainbows, dolphins, and men not wearing shirts, and they call that weekly article The Parade? Hmmm… sounds like someone doth protests too much. :)

everyone knows what the most important game of all time was

"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09

Ahhh, yes!
Any excuse to run that picture … any time for the rest of my life … is worth taking. Way to go, cj!

no problem
a combination of being bored with pre-game shows and posting this picture just made me decide to put my Super Bowl XLII DVD in and re-watch the final drive. Awesome decision

Burress alone! Touchdown New York!
Joe Buck never sounded so sweet.
"We'll show up tomorrow and do the same thing we try to do every day, kick Pedroia's ass in cribbage and try and win a baseball game."
