Giants will be 5-4 at the bye!
Beating 4 teams that would be hard pressed to compete in the Southeastern Conference got everybody excited about this edition of the Giants. I believe this team will have to beat Minnesota on the final week of the season to finish 8-8! Thank God for the Redskins or this team would end up last in the NFC East. The Eagles are going to put a "beatdown" on this bunch, next week. Then, watch Phillip Rivers come to the Meadowlands and prove, once and for all, what a foolish mistake the Giants made trading him for Eli Manning!

HAHAHA
Thank you i needed a good laugh, I love this kind of foolishness, can’t wait for last weeks Eagles to show up again and the Redskins to win so we can see how good of a team they really are.
This division is looking way worse than last year and the Giants are still the top dog in it, two uninspiring losses to the best NFC team and a team that went to the Superbowl last year has clearly made you lose your mind.

LOL
Loosing to two teams, one who is a powerhouse on offense, and had 7th ranked D in the league, yet we still put up 27. Second loss we loose by 7 to a team that went to the superbowl.
And Eagles loose to a team who’s QB has the worst passer rating in the NFL and was worse then some current UFL players. But yeah the Eagles will smoke the Giants. Keep dreaming.

Delete this crap....
Foolish for trading for Eli? Phil Rivers has as many SB rings as Bob Costas.

If the same team that played the last two weeks shows up.
Than I’d have to agree with everything in this post.

I'm as negative as it gets
but this post is a bit absurd, the G-Men are struggling and might not beat Philly, but they have not fallen that far, some better heath and expierence and they might be real tough down the streach.

Going into Philly.....
is always tough. The G-men will beat SD. Under Norv they are average at best.

From a Cowboys fan...
Well..even I think this is pretty inane…
1. Philly has not looked better than the Giants. Your main point was that the giants have beaten 4 bad teams and were overrated. So now you are giving Philly lots of credit for beating the deadskins? They are quite possibly the worst team the NFC east has produced in a decade and Philly didn’t exactly put on a clinic on Monday. Remember they just lost to the Raiders whom the Giants absolutely dismantled…
2. San Diego… They really are not very good. Their defensive line has been absolutely crushed at times this year, their linebackers have been marginal at best and their running game has been anemic. The one true thing I saw in this post was some type of kudos to Phillip Rivers…he has been on fire and far and away the best player on the Chargers at the moment. But…. I HATE ELI MANNING and even I am not going to say that the Giants made a mistake. Phillip is progressing more it appears but Eli has easily out preformed him the past few seasons..they’re both good..leave it at that.
3. 8-8 and last in the division
Washinton, Carolina, SD @ home should all be wins. And it is pretty far fetched to think that they lose both games to Philly seeing how the birds have been playing/injuries. Denver looks good but not unstoppable, Minnesota looks to be a close game, and Atlanta is still a lesser team. The last game against the Cowboys? Well, right now the Boys look like the class of the NFC east..but how about 2 weeks ago? What about two weeks from now? They are just so up and down that I certainly don’t understand how they are already chalked up as a loss. The division will be close near the end probably because NY seems to have a few more flaws then they did in years past. But…
Wasn’t it week 7 of 2007 that everyone was calling to bench Eli and Fire Coughlin then they really caught fire and went on to win the Superbowl?
Point being.. it’s a long season and the Giants are still a good team and the Champions of the NFC east until someone takes it away from them. Currently there isn’t anyone in the league and especially the NFC that sees the Giants as an 8-8 team. It’s a long season..hold off on those knee-jerks.
Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game as a head coach..he has lost 4 home playoff games.
His longest tenure as head coach was 3 years.
Only once did his record as a HC improve from one year to the next (by 1 game)

this is one of the best posts I've read all week
scary that it comes from a Cowboys fan!
I guess it helps to have perspective. FWIW, even when the Cowboys were struggling I said I didn’t think they were out of it and they still scared me. Looks like I was right.
"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09

no one forgets last year...
the Cowboys and Eagles were struggling, Giants were the ‘best in teh game’. Both beat the crap out of the Giants.
As Giatns fans, we should all realize the Cowboys and eagles are never out of it.
Shower time.

+1
That was an excellent post and I agree 100%. It’s a long season and each team out there, including ours, is an injury away from having their season go up in smoke.
I do like the fact that we have the week 10 bye. We should me much stronger after the bye (should get some injured players back). We still have not fielded the team that looked so dangerous on paper. I’ll never count our the Birds or Girls, but I do still feel we have the best shot at the East title. I would love another crack at the Saints when we’re at full strength. Anyways, that’s a long way down the road and to sound like a coach, “we need to take it one game at a time.”

As another Cowboy fan
I obviously agree with my fellow Cowboy fan, it’s a long season.
Right now the NFC East has 17 combined wins, more than any division in the NFL, and you can talk about soft schedules till you’re blue in the face, a W is a W. Cowboys, Eagles and Giants all have five wins, all are still in the hunt for the division title.
- The Eagles made the playoffs last year with a 5-5-1 starting record.
- The Cardinals started 4-3 and made it to the superbowl.
- The Bucs were 9-3 at one point before flaming out spectacularly.
- The mighty Redskins started 5-2 and ended up 8-8.
- The Vikings had an ugly start, going 5-5, and won the division anyway.
So hold off on the anointing oil for the current flavor-of-the-week team, but also hold off on the self-flagellation after a few early season losses. The season is far from over. Anything can and will happen.

Why the Giants will be 8-8!
Having Kenny Phillips out for the remainder of the season means that CC Brown will be playing safety. Houston fans said he couldn’t cover and he has proven that to be correct! Every NFL team that plays the Giants will throw the ball at CC Brown with success. Get used to seeing “deep middle” patterns going for long gains and/or touchdowns and the Giants can’t stop it especially with the poor pass rush the front seven has been mounting, lately! That’s what New Orleans did, Arizona did, that’s what Philly will do with DeSean Jackson and that’s what San Diego will do! Unless the ZGiants pass rush re-appears, get used to the idea of 8-8!

nah...
yet..if they make the playoffs at 8-8…I couldn’t give a rats balls what their reg. season record is.

THE GIANTS AREN'T VERY GOOD
And I’m a fan. Just being honest. The Giants need to regroup, but I think it’s beyond that.
Bad opponents hid their flaws which are not going to be solved any time soon.
Eagles 31, Giants 17. Eli is picked twice. Hixon provides a run back td, and that’s the best the giant’s do, though Eli gets another on a short field. McNabb gets sacked once, picked off twice, then takes the game away in the second half. The Giants cannot rush, offensively, or defensively. The dbs get sluggish. Eli throws ducks. The Giant’s team and organization scratch their collective head as they realize they are a team on the decline, as opposed to the team on the rise they thought they were. Sorry, but facts be facts.

I hate to say "I told you so"...
Everyone has a term for what happened in Philly, today. My definition is a “beatdown”! Scary part is the Giants “quit”! Never thought I’d say that about a Tom Coughlin coached team! These guys just aren’t very good. Phillip Rivers and the San Diego offense will have their way with this defense. Giants only hope is outscoring San Diego by taking advantage of the somewhat feeble Charger’s defense!
