Now You've Gone and Angered the Big Man
All right, I'm a little upset about all the Brandon Bashing "tip-toeing" comments this week. The fact is, we all know what Jacobs is capable of. He's shown us what he's capable of through his seasons as the starter here in NY.
However, even after a 3-0 start, his own fans are complaining about his work ethic/ passion/ strength/ conditioning/ physicality. WHY? Jacobs has never been anything other than a powerful runner and a bruising power back. He's shown us time and time again that he is willing to lay his health and well being on the line to provide us and the team everything they need for a win.
This has GOT to stop. Now, I'm coming to his defense but I know that he wouldn't appreciate why I am coming to his defense. Here's why: I want Brandon Jacobs healthy in weeks 12-15 and the playoffs. I don't care what Brandon Jacobs does during an easy game against Tampa Bay. Ahmad Bradshaw did fine and Jacobs really wasn't needed against an inferior opponent. I'd much rather see a bruising power back against Eagles on week 14 at full speed than week 3 against Tampa Bay.
As upset as I am at the way we questioned BJ's determination, I am just as upset that Brandon Jacobs is now going to be playing angry...in week 4 against...Kansas City??? Folks, is there a less important match up this season. Maybe, against Oakland. But, COME ON! LAY OFF THE BIG MAN!
I want the guy healthy in the playoffs. WHO CARES ABOUT WEEK 4?? If he has a tweak or something, let him play with it for a while as he recovers. I don't want him to reinjure it. I want a strong, healthy backfield in DUE time and when the time is right. Whatever happens now, the Giants have shown they have a championship team, with or without a healthy backfield. We've got to be patient.
I heard the Giants players saying earlier this year: an NFL season is a marathon, not a sprint. Let him take the time now he needs to recoup from whatever before we jump to conclusions that the Juggernaut has gone soft.

yup.
I mean he’s on pace for 1000 yards again, so whatever.
He’s always banged up early in the year and just not the same at the end of the year.
I have no problem if he’s simply saving himself for later in the season when it counts.
People always cry cuz the guy isn’t doing well for his fantasy team, but I don’t do fantast FB so I don’t care. Let him be healthy for the playoffs when it matters.

He will
show people. He is finally realizing that he doesn have to truck over people every game. He has good quicknes and good moves and now adding the patience to his game can only improve it. He will be a dangerous weapon ( not to say that he is not already) when he puts it all together and can make it through a whole season.

Poor KC
I feel bad for what KC has coming to them this Sunday. They didn’t even say anything negative about Brandon the Bull and yet they get to face his rage. I just hope Jacobs doesn’t overdo it by trying to hard. We have a well balanced offense this season and there is nothing wrong with that. The last thing we need is another injury. Play hard but play smart.
GO NY GIANTS!!

BJ Rushing
Listen up, BJ is not really a break-away runner. His job is to beat the crap out of the opposing defenders until the fourth quarter rolls around and they are dragging their asses up to the line of scrimmage and have no gas left for a pass rush or pursuit of quicker guys like Ahmad Bradshaw. On the other hand, I have to admit I do see Brandon Jacobs tip-toeing and shuffling up to the line after handoffs. I don’t buy for a minute his excuse that he needs to let his blockers make the holes before he hits them. He’s slow as molasses compared to Bradshaw, who hits the holes with lightning quickness and finds the creases without waiting for the light to turn green. I mean we are not crossing a busy intersection here waiting for the light to turn green. We are busting through tackles and bodies. He needs to be more forceful in his approach to the line. And you should absolutely scrap any and every play that calls for BJ to run around ends. Unless he’s running hard north and south, he’s totally ineffective. One more thing, Bradshaw and other players aren’t “saving themselves” for the playoffs. They are sacrificing their bodies now. The same should be expected of Jacobs. Personally, I’d rather have Bradshaw healthy in the playoffs. He was the leading rusher on the team in the playoff run up to the Superbowl in 2007.

Big Jake
Earlier in the week, I posted something to the effect of,
“As soon as he gets rolling and trucking some LBs, you’ll all forget the Siragusa nonsense and be drooling over him again.”
I’d like to take that back after watching him yesterday and say:
“As soon as he gets rolling and trucking some DEFENSIVE LINEMAN, you’ll all forget the Siragusa nonsense and be drooling over him again.”
He rolled that KC Defensive End like a pizza dough
You play to win the game!
