In case you guys didn't already know, I am a big fan of the the musical sports blogging of Ryan Parker. In his latest effort, Parker has summarized the NFL season. I hope you enjoy his take.
- Three members of our New York Giants were recently named to Pro Football Weekly's list of the top 50 players of the 2008 season. Justin Tuck was listed as No. 36, Eli Manning 44 and Chris Snee 48. Brandon Jacobs was an honorable mention. By the way, PFW listed two players who might interest the Giants -- Anquan Boldin and Tony Gonzalez -- at numbers 46 and 47.
- The St. Louis Post Dispatch ran an awesome in-depth look Sunday at the Rams' new coach, former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Included in their is the revelation that Spags operates on 'Coughlin Time.' That, of course, means that if you aren't five minutes early you are actually late.
- Thank goodness this guy is not a frequenter of BBV. Could this be 'Dave from Asheville?'
- If you want to re-live the entire season, Michael Eisen has done just that at Giants.com.

Great story re Spags
He’ll be one hell of a Head Coach.
Eli rated tenth among QBs?
Sounds about right. No injuries and BJ would be high on the list.
Hey George
Are you the only one out there this morning? Maybe only old guys (you) and unemployed ones (me) have the time to hang out during the off-season. LOL!!

i take objection to Snee's placing on that list...
Chris Snee was the best Guard in the NFL this year
It's not easy being Giants fan in Philly.. but it sure is satisfying
Snee
There is only one offensive lineman rated ahead of him (Michael Roos, OT, Tennessee). So, actually, PFW agrees with you.

interesting
If you took Snee off of that line, i’m convinced that they’d hover right around averagge

O-Line
Honestly, that line does not have tremendous individual talent. They are all good, athletic veteran players and they have developed a great run-blocking chemistry. I think individual weaknesses get exposed in pass protection occasionally, but it is obviously a quality group.

What a great article on Spags....
our loss is definitely going to be the Rams gain.

Luckily for us
Spags was able to put the wheels in motion for what should be a great defense for years to come.

We'll see
Bad coaching and scheming can eff up a defense pretty quick, I’m pointing at you, Tim Lewis, and you, Johnnie Lynn.

If Sheridan isn't the right fit, he'll be launched before the season is over
I don’t know how you could screw up with this defense next year. 2006 was a strange year so you can’t blame everything on him. Yes he was bad, but when William Joseph (who was terrible to begin with) had to start for the G-Men at defensive end due to injuries i knew there were problems. That season was riddled with errors on both sides of the ball Mathias Kiwanuka’s missed sack on Vince Young was a microchosm of that season. It seems like everyone on that team got hurt. I honestly think that if Amani and Petitgout didn’t go down for the season, they had a very decent shot at making noise in the playoffs

The list
I’m surprised they put any defensive player ahead of Haynesworth right now (Reed, Harrison, and Ware). No one can have more impact on a game because of what he means up front on EVERY down.
Nice to see that Tuck is still getting the recognition. He’ll move further up that list when Osi comes back to take pressure off him and allow him to move around.
Wow
that clip was ridiculous, I love the Giants and all, but would never cry when they lose
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
Oh my God,
that guy just disgraced every Giant Fan. Doesn’t he realize that he is just providing material for the girls, iggles etc.
I mean I love the Giants since 1984, just like bren said, but come on man!!!!!. grow a pair
My Dad and his steelers gave me the love for football, but the Giants gave me a Team
Yep
I hesitated to post it, but it has been making the rounds. Figured you might as well as get it from me before you heard about it from elsewhere.

Well its funny
To see how seriously some people take these losses…i usually just throw something and be done with it, and as always I remind myself that I survived the Dave Brown era, so its not so bad

bren, there were far worse eras than the DB one.
As Giants’ fans, we’re all survivors. That’s why we have to put last season in perspective, disappointing as it was.
not gonna lie
I was pretty upset about the end of this season. I cancelled plans to hang out with friends that night. In my defense, however, 3 of those friends were from Philadelphia, and as a Mets/Giants fan, I couldn’t handle hanging out with them and no longer having the Giants as a rebuttal to their Phillies are champs, Mets are chokers taunts. As I’ve said, I really am not upset that the Giants won’t be winning the Super Bowl, it was a great year regardless – I am, however, furious that they had to lose to the g-d d-mn Eagles.
