So psyched
I am sitting in my office wearing my Strahan jersey (Got to get a Tuck Jersey) so excited for the season to start. I cannot think of anything else but watching Phillips clock a few guys, intercept a ball and watching Eli connect with Plaxico.
This is going to be a fun year. At least every game I watch I get to hear, “Well the Defending Super Bowl Champs ….” Hopefully it will be followed by, “are kicking their butt today.” I guess we shall see.
Go Gints.
where to watch it?
I’m in baja. and I will miss the first quarter because I get off from work at 8. Does anyone know a web page or something to see the game? I cannot miss the beginning of the game. Help!!
The Giants LOOK AWESOME! Hope ur watching it now Serge!
Alright! How about those Giants! They cam out early and Eli looked like the MVP of last years Super Bowl! Awesome work! It’s going to be a great year!!!
Hey, I figured I would share a little tip for any fellow G-Men fans looking to go to a game at Giants Stadium this year…
If you are looking to save some money but see a game then wait till Wednesday night or the Thursday before the game. These are the days when ticket holders start to reduce ticket prices big-time on sites like StubHub, RazorGator and eSellOut… Why? Because many of the guys still holding tickets live out of the state in areas like California or Texas even and have no chance or want to attend the game BUT they would much rather take $50-$100 for their tickets instead of nothing. Think about it this way…If you tried to get tickets off a scary scalper on game day your walking around with at least $300-$500 cash without any idea of what you might get. Personally I always use eSellOut because it is independently owned and I think they tend to be a little easier to use and often more cost friendly. Check them out: http://www.esellout.com/ResultsGeneral.aspx?kwds=New+Yotk+Giants or use who you are comfortable using BUT try this method sometime and notice how much money you will save the next time you head off to a game!

Plaxico gets a new deal. I think this is good.
Hours before kickoff of tonight’s season-opener against the Redskins, Burress signed a new five-year, $35 million contract that will pay him $11 this season and keep him with the Giants through the 2012 season.
Is this confirmed? Does anyone know if this is done?
Hey guys
Here’s to another great, safe season!
I know we all hate each other, but it’s good to know the NFC East is the most talented and most competitive division in football.
Nice to finally have real football again.
Trophy!!!
“Let’s welcome the Lombardi Trophy BACK to Giants Stadium!” [CROWD ROARS!]
Goosebumps!! So badass.
Thank God New York Giants Football is back!
I had goosebumps when Strahan held the Lombardi trophy and welcomed in the team. I pumped my fist with every amazing Plaxico catch on that first drive. And I stood up and cheered when Eli ran it in for a TD.
I’ve been waiting for this day all offseason – let the Super Bowl title defense begin!
Jacobs
+ watching him get past the D line is incredible. This is testament to the Giants O line. If Jacobs gets through and can punish the ‘Skins LB’s and DB’s we’re in GREAT shape.
Why do they always take Jacobs out on short yardage?
I know he just ran for 8, but why not leave him in, hes only the biggest damn RB in the league?
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
His sheer size alone wouldve gotten that first, and wed have 4 more points
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
I hate to say it....
but I think the FG was the right move. If they come away with zero points, that’s not good….
Dude!

I say Pierce now that Osi is out

I hope he takes Moss spot before the years over

No No No
Romo’s doing commercials now! C’mon – don’t I have to hear enough about him and Jessican Simpson. Enough!
oh man. The 'skins were not ready for this tonight.
They don’t look like the can match the energy, the speed, strength of the Giants right now. I hope it continues all night. I love spags. I hope he never leaves.
It's just so surprising
Sorry, it’s just that watching Moss catch a pass for a first down is like coming across a unicorn in the forest.
Who do you hate more Skins or Cowboys?
My vote is Dallas

Say it again...
Plaxico is making good on that new contract

Carney
Good temp replacement, no? A guy like that who has been in the league for so long is definitely a plus.
Not much Bradshaw yet

Hes probably rusty from all that jail time anyway

Nobody
within 15 yards of him. When Hixon gets healthy again I hope TC puts him back there. RW doesn’t turn the ball over, but doesn’t really make plays, either.
I'm ok with playing it safe
O is playing well, Eli is getting time to throw and the run game is gaining momentum. No reason to chance putting it on the turf.
Good to see Toomer get one of the C's
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
I love Hedgecock
he’s a stud. Plus contract year for B Jac. He will be unstoppable.
PS: if that play was to bradshaw, that’s 6 pts
I Love It!
Jacobs looks great, Ward gets some nice runs – and we haven’t even seen much from Bradshaw – you have to love this
A toss sweep on 3 and 2?
Gilbride must be confused
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
Thats my point
you have the biggest G.D. running back in teh league and they toss sweep when they only need 2 yards…it makes no sense
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
Crap
that’s the worst thing that could have happened. This should be a blowout, and now it’s a game.
he was literally uncovered
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
damn....
…..how did they put that drive together? Tough way to go into the half, giving them momentum and now the Skins get the ball back in the 2nd half
Precisely
Which is why I wish they had buried the Redskins instead of letting them stay in the game. They could have had 24 instead of 16, and that last TD was not good.
well we have to know it is the same old giants
the giants always like to make it fun. They hate blowing people out and putting a game out of reach. that is too easy and since I have always believed the Gints are secretly sponsored by rolaids. they need to make sure I consume the pack in front of me and are forced to return to foodtown to stock up for the second half.
Uneven officiating.....
The calls tonight have been….tough. Just uneven – I don’t understand all of ’em
You've got to be pretty happy, here.
The Gnts are dominating this game. Yeah, they’re still shaking of some rust, but Madden (as much as I can’t stand him as a commentator) is right about your lines. Both o and d are picking up where they left off. And Jacobs looks like a faster Okoye with better lateral movement.
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead
Jacobs
looks as good as I’ve ever seen him. The ability to make some guys miss is amazing for a guy his size.
toomer must play forever
even with the depth at receiver (I cant believe I actually typed that). still I trust toomer more than any of those guys.

Eli
I’m a little concerned that he sometimes seems to be locked in on Burress to the exclusion of other receivers
part of it
is that things weren’t going well, so he started to lock in on Plax. But I hear ya. The passing offense started off hot, but has been anything but since.
Or your could say
the game isn’t as close as the score. Don’t worry: you guys aren’t losing this one, and it’s a good tuneup for tougher stuff down the road.

Wow, what a job moving the pile on that one

The way Washington's passing game has looked
It won’t really matter that they have to punt.

Well
Good game by the D, good quarter and a half by the O. Time to beat a dead horse and say we still need to see some consistency out of our offense. But, overall a good start to our season. Beat a division foe, showed a good pass rush, ran the ball well, and showed flashes of the wealth of talent on O.
Kiwanuka hurt

Someone get Chad Bratzke on the phone, quick!
we might need him

Wow, a Chad Bratzke reference
How delightfully obscure!

Oh man, he was great, good ole no 77

Samuels looked contrite.
I think it was a bad deal and no one likes to see an injury at the end of a finished game. It was unfortunate, I hope Kiwi is ok. That said, I obviously don’t agree that one of our players should die as a result.
Final Thoughts
As well as the Giants moved the ball, they didn’t score nearly as often as they should have. You’d expect they would have gotten more points, considering Jacobs and Burress had great days. O-line looked good as well.
Defensively, the Redskins offense never looked comfortable passing the ball, and the Giants did a good job limiting Portis’s effectiveness.
Overall, a solid day for the Giants, although they could do better.

Let's hope Kiwi's okay.
Glad first game was with ’skins. Some good things, some bad. Glad we have Plax sewed up for five years. Bottom line: a win is a win is a win.
Wouldn't
be Giants victory if wasn’t close…..Just hope Kiwanuka is OK. Really, for the Giants, this one didn’t even seem close. No fourth quarter come back or nothing…..maybe the big blue ulcer won’t come around every game this season…
Finally caught up to real time
Well, the final score was a lot closer than the actual game. The Giants really dominated this thing. but i would like to see them put 7’s on the board instead of 3’s. Jacobs looked great, although i was disappointed in the lack of Ahmad Bradshaw. Tuck looked like the best player on the defense i thought, which was good to see. And you can’t say enough about Plax.
A few too many penalties and the red zone offense were the only real negatives, unless of course Kiwi is hurt, which would be a devastating loss. Lets say a few prayers for that leg tonight.
Finally, that opening ceremony with Strahan was incredible and gave me goosebumps.
S.P.
You’ve got to be one of the classier fans out there. (Even for a moderator!) most fans after a loss would just dissapear, especially cowboy fans , you’ve probably had them too. They’ll get better.
We're only gonna score 17 points?
