Giants' Kiwanuka still hurting
Mathias Kiwanuka had a very quiet game Sunday against St. Louis. Wednesday, New York Giants Coach Tom Coughlin admitted that Kiwanuka is still suffering the effects of an ankle injury suffered in Week 1 against Washington.
From Coughlin's Wednesday press conference:
Q: Is Mathias Kiwanuka’s injury still lingering? Q: …..during the bye week? A: Yeah. Thanks a lot, Chris Samuels! It still ticks me off that the NFL did not fine Samuels for the dirty, unnecessary hit on Kiwanuka in the final play of the season-opening game.
A: Yeah, I think it is going to be. Let’s face it, I don’t know that those things really ever get cleared up. But we hope that we have an opportunity to maybe shut him down a little bit. And then maybe he can play without the ankle swelling up on him.

- The Giants are reportedly one of four teams interested in 12-year veteran Hollis Thomas. The 6-foot, 335-pound defensive tackle was just released by New Orleans via an injury settlement.

Samuels
i would hope the Giants wouldn’t sink to the level of doing something dirty to him … but, Antonio Pierce plays on that defense … Samuels will be lucky to get through the game in one piece.

Dirty?
I didn’t mean it would necessarily be dirty (well, Pierce might get dirty). I just meant that guys will be looking to blow him up during a play if he’s in front of them.

Ocho Cinco
gives a great interview. I kind of soured on him this past offseason, but outside of that I’ve always been very entertained by him.

What's the deal with the seemingly arbitrary fines being levied?
I haven’t seen any fines for the Tom Brady hit, or the dirty play on Kiwi, yet I’ve seen about three other fines for plays that were infinitely less serious and/or dirty. Do the fines come down only when they foul committed is against a team that DIDN’T make a Superbowl?
As for the Bungles, I hope they get their locker room, coaching/management issues and difficulty with the game of football worked out. AFTER this week end.
