jrs1940 for the Manning defense Your Honor
Go watch the video that Ed posted a few days ago of Eli in training camp. He isn’t just a different QB, he’s a different person. Smiling, laid back, relaxed.
Imagine the pressure of being the younger brother of one of the greatest QB’s to ever play the game. Add to that the fact that his brother was the SB MVP, and if that wasn’t enough, for the “cherry on top”, the kid plays in the NY market, where everything he does is magnified. I don’t care who you are, that will effect anyone.
I said it from the minute I saw him hoist the Lombardi trophy, the weight of the world is off his shoulders.
Will we all get a pit in our stomach the first INT he throws in the regular season? Of course we will. The difference this time is, we’ll get over it, and so will Eli.
With Shockey traded, and Tiki and Strahan retired, this is unquestionably now “Eli’s team”, and I honestly believe he will make the most of it.

Eli has changed
I thought the same thing when I was watching the Eli interview … he now looks much more comfortable in his own skin. I hope he gets over the inconsistency that has plagued him, but at least we now know he can get the job done when it matters most.

Don't care about the inevitable
interception. The best in the world will have a few. If he really is more comfortable, which he should be at this point the only real fault he should be working on is the “grounders’ Shoe string catches are rough when most of your recievers are well over 6’. But yeah, to agree with you guys ,I really do feel good for him.
We're only gonna score 17 points?

You're right, bbwc.
Those low balls are his biggest throwing weakness. Amani has done a remarkable job in scooping so many up. Much tougher for Plax and was impossible it seemed for Shock. A lot of the new receivers are shorter, so might field them better. Still, I’d like to see Eli throw a lot fewer.

as long as groundballs are called McNabbs and not Elis, I’m happy

By the way
I can’t believe the preseason starts this week. The summer is flying by. I’m pumped though, I don’t remember being this excited for a football season since, well, ever. Now PLEASE don’t let anyone important get hurt the next 4 weeks! (knock on wood, throw salt over my shoulder, whatever your superstition may be!)
