Giants Unveil Strahan Signal
I know this is old news now, but someone just sent it to me, still funny
A little humor from The Onion:

I'm still surprised
he didn’t answer the call. It might have been a great story.
Off topic, has anyone bought the “Road to the Super Bowl” DVD? And if so, is it worth buying?

I want to buy it
But I went to 4 different DVD selling stores last time I was home in NY, and none of them had it. I’m probably gonna ask for it for my birthday next month, hopefully someone will order it off Amazon for me.

Thanks for the info...
I saw it on one of the ads for online Giants stuff. So the DVD consists of the final regular season and playoff games. In their entirety? Or highlights. Is the commentary by NFL films?

The games are shown in their entirety..........almost
Sometimes after a play they will cut it and go to the next play in spots where you might have wanted them to hang on so you could gloat for a minute. No half time analysis. Who wants to hear Aikman and Buck anyway? Still it’s a must have.
We're only gonna score 17 points?

Sounds like it is worth having....
It is a shame that announcers a pushed to fill every second with talk. I don’t mind Joe Buck and Troy as much as some of the others.
I’ve said it before, but the experiment NBC did years ago with no announcers worked for me. The droning voice of the stadium announcer and the emphasis on actual crowd noise gave me the impression that I was actually at the game.
The problem with just muting the TV so you don’t have to listen to the play by play and color is the detachment from the stadium noises. Too bad you can’t just mute the network crews.

With todays technology
Of HD and surround sound, I think it would be awesome to watch a game without announcers.
I seem to remember that game was a Jets-Dolphins game

One of the reasons it was better
was because you could concentrate on the whole field of play, and, as you said, the line play. That’s why hockey is so much better in person too. The cameras follow the puck and you never get to see any plays develop.
When there were no announcers I think I paid more attention to the way plays developed.
Thanks for the link. Damn…it seems like just yesterday when I watched that game!
