Just a few notes in advance of tonight's game -- partially posted to get your minds off Alyssa and back on football. Tonight's game thread will be posted later on.

Here is some player reaction to Michael Strahan's decision to stay retired.
Eli Manning was honored Wednesday as the team's 2007 MVP.
Assemblyman rips Giants for "gouging of fans."
Starters will make brief appearance tonight.
RealFootball says the Giants enter the season "impaired."

I like Strahan's decision.

Not many guys have a chance to really go out on top, and not many who do have the balls to walk away when they’re at the pinnacle. I think it show a lot of class, and a lot of self-awareness.
