You won't see much of the regulars tonight. In fact, many of them probably won't play at all. There are a few things worth paying attention to, though.
- The backup QB battle. Will Eli Manning's backup be David Carr or Anthony Wright? This is the last chance for both veterans to make an impression.
- Can Josh Huston win the kicking job? At this point there is no word on when, or if, Lawrence Tynes will be back this season. Huston, wo almost won the job last season, has missed a pair of 42-yard field goals subbing for Tynes. His kickoffs have been excellent, but any more misses and the Giants will be looking at some of the veteran kickers who will be available.
- Can Danny Ware unseat Reuben Droughns? Ware has been impressive in the backfield and running back kickoffs. Droughns has barely played the last two games. If the Giants think Ware is the reincarnation of Ryan Grant, Droughns' NFL career might be at an end.
- Defensive tackle battle. We know Barry Cofield, Fred Robbins and Jay Alford are solid. But, there are a host of players vying for the fourth defensive tackle slot. I am interested to see if any of the young backups steps forward tonight.

I'm in class
so I won’t be watching the game (although, as it’s not on national TV, I wouldn’t be watching it anyway), but I’m gonna keep this page open and check back every so often to see how it’s going. Go Big Blue (and don’t get hurt)
God, no!
No injuries, please! Pretty please, even!

Yeah, thanks NFL Network
Instead of showing this game live, they are showing 3 hours of the Dolphins Cheerleader Tryouts. I guess they couldn’t show that any other time of day and actually show an actual football game

first the Eli
is a “beautiful man” comment, now you’re mad that cheerleader tryouts are on instead of David Carr and the 3rd team offense?
i’m worried about your jrs.

Wow!
Great opening drive. O-line was tremendous, Jacobs looks as good as I’ve ever seen him and a beautiful catch/run by Darcy Johnson.
Gotta step out
for a bit. If anyone is in here, keep the chat going. I’ll be recording the game so I can do tomorrow’s ‘Kudos & Wet Willies.’
So, how are you guys doing?
Was at Patspulpit and they don’t seem very happy with their D…. :)

Keep in mind, I live in South Florida, I can see those glorified strippers anytime.

Anyone want to describe for me
what happened on that opening drive and why Carr seems to have gotten the job?
Good question.

While it's halftime
Can anyone explain why Jennings, Thorpe, and Hall were waived and then Marcus Monk was claimed from the Bears? OK, Thorpe was injured but I thought Hall had a good camp. Are they looking for practice squad candidates?
Hmmm, Terrabyte, I had the same question
I don’t know exactly, but i’m sure it has something to do with JR’s subtle machinations. I smell the possibility of a trade in the offing for one (or more) of our remaining WRs, with Monk a possible reserve, or, more likely, a guy they want to take a look at with an eye toward keeping him on the practice squad. Physically, he is reminiscent of Plax, a tall guy w/o the kind of speed that kills Ds. Until Eli solves his accuracy problems, he needs those big targets to throw at.
Still, it’s amazing. with all our depth at WR, why grab a guy who had to be passed over by so manhy teams before we even had a shot at him?

Carr
20 of 29 for 192 yards, I’d say that clinches the yob
Nice job holding the Pats to 14…AGAIN
Josh Huston…..dude, I can kick an extra point, and I’m fat and lazy
