Training camp notebook, 08.15
A few notes from Giants training camp, where it suddenly seems a bunch of stuff is going on.
- Lawrence Tynes will miss Monday's game against Cleveland, and Josh Huston has been signed. Now, don't go and get all fired up about this. I know Huston almost beat Tynes for the kicking job last season, but this job now belongs to Tynes. Huston will kick Monday, then likely be sent packing as soon as Tynes is healthy.
- Michael Strahan visited camp Friday. That makes more time spent in Albany this year as a spectator than he spent in town last seasonas a player.
- Young receivers drawing the wrath of coach Tom Coughlin.
- Friday evening practice report -- or, Kenny Phillips is still awesome.

On the wideouts....
How much of this is on the Giants? Don’t they have to take some responsibility for having their rookie players ready for the training camp grind?
I understand the team can only do so much, but this is three years in a row with the quads, hamstrings, pork strings, rickets, gout, and feline leukemia.
I wonder if Strahan had to Mapquest Albany

Yahoooooooo!!!!!!!!
Huston is back !!!!!!!!!! This time I hope for good. Last year he flat out was better. Tynes depite his third try heroics last year clearly was the second best in camp, the only reason they kept Tynes was to save face because they gave up a draft pick.
jrs, yourt absolutely right. Why can’t the giants amend their workouts to builds up the rookie wide recivers so their not consistantly getting pork strings and rickets? It’s evry year so it must be the kids fault?
We're only gonna score 17 points?
