Opportunity knocks for Tuck

USA Today had a nice piece on Justin Tuck Wednesday.

Here is how Tuck described playing in a Steve Spagnuolo defense.

"Luckily for us, we have a lot of guys who are very, very versatile, and that gives Spags things we can do to offenses," Tuck says. "Our d-ends do it all — we stop the run, we pass rush, we run to the ball, we cover wide receivers, we line up on tight ends and backs, we've lined up as linebackers and blitzed. I played every position last year other than safety, and I'm a defensive lineman."

I thought Tuck was the Giants' best lineman last season -- no offense to Osi Umenyiora or Michael Strahan. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do without Strahan around.

Tuck

is the man. I’ve been thinking of replacing my Strahan jersey with his.

Great to see Dahl back. I thought he filled in nicely when injuries hit hard.

Dahl

If he is healthy enough I think he has a shot to make this team.

yeah, I suppose......

Don’t you think there isn’t a lot of room left for him?

Strong Safety
James Butler
Sammy Knight
Nehemiah Warrick

Free Safety
Michael Johnson
Kenny Phillips
Craig Dahl

So I think he is definitely the last guy in the group. And what if an expensive veteran FS is cut from another team? Then Dahl is out in a heartbeat. I like the team bringing a guy back that clearly knows the system – but there have to be better guys out there…..right?

Warrick?

Why would he be ahead of Dahl? We’ll see what happens.

Dahl

I think he has a sluggers chance too if healthy. He reminds me of your Shaun Williams description, big hitter but just a tad slow to be elite. He did fill in surprisingly well in the reg season Pats game after seeming lost in the pre season though. It’s easy to root for a guy that obviously put in a lot of hard work.

We're only gonna score 17 points?

Name I haven't heard mentioned much

Jacobs – In all the training camp reports I have read so far, I really haven’t heard much said about Jacobs. Anybody hear anything?
