Training camp report, 07.29
There seemingly hasn't been any movement in the Plaxico Burress situation. The Giants wide receiver still isn't practicing, and he still doesn't have a new contract.
Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday that it's not as if the Giants waited until the last minute to get a deal done. The big MG says the Giants actually reached out to Burress first to try and strike a new deal.
The biggest news from camp Tuesday was that Amani Toomer did not practice, sitting out with swelling in his leg.
Here are a variety of practice reports.
Neil Best reports in his 'Watchdog' blog for Newsday that David Tyree is on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

SI coverboy?
Back to Work. How ironic is that line, considering poor Tyree is on the PuP list and can’t practice?

Phillips
Sounds like he’s making quite a name for himself as a big hitter and the receivers don’t like it. I like it, but I’ll be very angry if he takes someone out. I like this line from Ralph V:
“I’m telling you, Kenny Phillips is going to hurt someone. I watched QB David Carr throw a nice pass down field in the direction of WR Mario Manningham. The receiver seemed open and I thought he was going to catch it and then – boom! – out of nowhere Phillips came charging in. He nearly made the interception and nearly took Manningham’s head off, all at the same time. He’s got to be in the receivers’ heads by now. I know he’s in my head. Every time I feel something moving behind me I quickly look to find out where the rookie safety is.”

Agreed
As long as he doesn’t hurt one of his own guys, then it’s all good.

I'm gonna love this guy
But save it for the preseason game against the Pats!

Tyree cover
Don’t just check out the cover, the article is great too. Steve Sabol is saying that it’s the greatest play in SB history. Seems obvious to us, but to hear it from him makes it sweeter.
