Grateful to Giants

I am an Indianapolis Colts fan.  I, and a lot of Colts fans, have a connection to the Giants since the arrival of Eli Manning.  While I was dissappointed to see the Colts lose in their effort to repeat, I was extremely happy to see the Giants win.  As a matter of fact, this Super Bowl result was almost as sweet as the Colts win last year.  After watching the Giants and Pats play in week 17, I thought the Giants had a chance to beat the Pats in the Super Bowl.  It was the best Super Bowl I have seen, and I have seen all of them.

As a matter of fact, the entire country is indebted to the Giants.  While I think what the Pats did was amazing, I did not like the way they did it.  The running up the score, the filming of other teams, the borderline cheap shots, the Wilfork cheap shots, and how they conducted themselves in the last seconds of the game made the Pats one of the most disliked teams in America.  In the end, justice was served.  This game does show how hard it is to go undefeated in the NFL, and the Pats are to be commended for coming so close.  I don't believe we will ever see another team get that close to being unbeaten.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be the Manning brothers right now.  The odds of brothers winning back to back Super Bowls as starting QB's is off the charts.  It was so refreshing seeing Peyton root for Eli and the Giants this year, just like Eli rooted for the Colts and Peyton last year.  That is truly what sports should be about.  Maybe we (Giants and Colts) could each win the trophy every other year.

Congrats to the Giants (my 2nd favorite team).  Thank you for an unforgetable run and for the class you showed while winning the Super Bowl.  I know that the Giant players and fans will give the Super Bowl title the respect it deserves, like the Colts did last year.
