Colbert's take on Plaxico

http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/211989/december-02-2008/the-word---a-man-named-plaxico

Caught this last nite on The Colbert Report.  This story has gotten so big, its even being taken on by the master of Conservative Satire, Stephen Colbert.

You gotta sit through the first 45 seconds or so before he gets to Plax, but if you like Colbert, check it out.

Ah, seven more words, I can do it.

That was pretty funny… alhtough i keep hearing the safety was off and things like he’s lucky it didn’t go off when it hit the floor and shoot someone else.. Glocks don’t have safties so it be impossible to be on and as far as it going off when it hit the floor if that is indeed what happened well once he accidently discharged the one in the chamber there is no way a glock will shoot with out pulling the trigger and its not that easy of a trigger to pull its made that way so that when dropped thrown etc. it will not accidently go off.. He’s was dumb for having one in the chamber and then getting caught was his worst mistake but that doesn’t take away from the fact that we might just be a better team with out him… why not use Boss who’s slightly taller then Plax for that infamous 50/50 chance at a catch fade pattern?? Anyways it is what it is just hope Pierce dont get caught up in the storm me personally I would have done the same for my FRIENDS and they would for me.. Blackburn will fill his shoes just find though he’s proven he can..

BTW

NYPD bans the use of Glocks by its cops

to the best of my knowledge

the NYPD issues all it’s guns. At least that’s how it is for the Nassau PD (my dad’s a cop) – it’s not like the cops go out and get there own guns, so I’d assume they just don’t issue them Glocks.

Unless George meant that they ban their cops from using Glocks off-duty, which is certainly possible, I suppose.

did some quick research

according to Wikipedia, the NYPD lets their cops choose from a SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson, or a Glock 19 (all are 9MM’s)

Damn, I wrote a story about an NYPD cop.

The cop who reviewed it said Glocks were banned. Oh well, I hope the other details he gave re shooting incidents was accurate.
