YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

What happened last week in fantasy? I though I’d be playing you for the championship

Who knows?

Even the best teams lose sometimes.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 1:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

For a team

with nothing to gain from this contest, it feels good to see this team play hard still.

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 1:37 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

If we're

gunna look that uninspired on Off. Take the 1st team outta the game.

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 1:47 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Another big run!

I am concerned about this run D.

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

How many long runs up the middle

are we gonna have to give up before some people admit that we need to find a more athletic MLB next year?

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 1:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

AP

had 8 yrds on 7 carries plus a fumble before that play. We still stuff the run.

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 1:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Is the turf at the Metrodome slippery?

I’ve seen at least three guys slip and fall down already.

by JoshNY on Dec 28, 2008 1:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

That TD is on AP

Here we go again, but he went all the way to the outside and left his gap in the middle unprotected. Watch the replay and that’s all him.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 1:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

AP

Caught up in the wash. He has become a liability. Is Chase the ML of the future?

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Does Ahmad

look like he gallops when he runs lol?

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 1:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yes

Like he is struggling.

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:53 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Alright Ahmad

that’s his best return of the season. In fact, I think that’s the teams best non-Hixon return all year

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 1:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Bradshaw

Where has that been?

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Ward

Should be closing in on 1000.

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:53 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Damn

that cost Ward his 1,000 yards, as well as the TD.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 1:55 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Baldinger

What is up with that crooked pinky?

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 1:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Ward looks

hungry for 1000 yrds. How may does he need?

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 1:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

he's exactly half-way there

he came into the game needing 62 yards, and he’s got 31 so far

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:00 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

never mind

I can’t do math. He needed 52 yards, so he’s only 21 yards away…

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:01 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Anyone watching any of this Pats-Bills game?

the wind is RIDICULOUS. The goal posts keep getting blown over, and field goals are getting pushed around like crazy (NE just missed like a 30 yarder)

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 1:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I am

it’s ridiculous, with the wind.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 2:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Tavaris

Is aweful. Think what this team would be with a mediocre QB. Kiehl looking good.

by nyfaninsouthaustin on Dec 28, 2008 2:02 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

BTW - anyone else think Brad Childress is a chicken-sh!t

for not showing the Bears score in the stadium there?

Save the neck for me, Clark.

Ben Roethlisberger

carted off the field in Pittsburgh. I’m a believer in playing your guys till the end, even in “meaningless” games, but that’s the danger…

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Big stop there on 4th down.

I like the call declining the penalty

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:30 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

And Dominick!

Save the neck for me, Clark.

Save the neck for me, Clark.

by Mr. Met on Dec 28, 2008 2:33 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

me too

he’s flat-money. The only times he ever misses are when the center gets leaped and the kick gets blocked

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Awesome

9-10. While they have everything to play for and we just want some revenge.

by ProudYankee on Dec 28, 2008 2:35 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Any chance

Eli comes back out for the 3rd, or is it Carr-time? And if it is Carr, will we still see Ward, I think he needs 5 more yards for 1,000?

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:35 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Good first half

Except for that one bad play against the run.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 2:38 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

and the double penalty play

could be 16-3 us if things broke our way on those two plays.

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:42 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yep

But that was Koets, who never plays, and won’t in the playoffs, so I am not worried about it. That ‘hold’ on Hixon was a phantom penalty.

Carr > Romo

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 2:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Ward

If he has a big second half he could lead the team in rushing. Congrats to him and Jacobs for becoming the 5th 1,000 yard tandem in NFL history

nice play. Carr to Darcy Johnson – a play I never hope to see in a non-week 17 game for the rest of my life

by Mr. Met on Dec 28, 2008 2:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Darcy Johnson

needs to take that first down signal and stick it in his pocket, or somewhere else less complementary. I freakin ’ hate that showboating crap, especially from a scrub.

by Mr. Met on Dec 28, 2008 4:04 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

that sucks

but as far as losses go, that’s about as good as they get. I mean, we barely lost despite playing our backups the whole second half and no Jacobs the whole game. Still, I wanted to win that…

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 4:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Loss

But who cares? Played pretty well except for two big plays on defense (and one was when a guy fell down). Got a lot of good things done, and now it’s on to the playoffs.

by Ed Valentine on Dec 28, 2008 4:10 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I know it's not important

but if the Giants do win the Super Bowl, it would have looked much better in future years to look back at a 13-3 team than a 12-4 team. That one win separates decent SB Champs from the ones that get talked about for years.

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 4:15 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'll take it if that happens!

Save the neck for me, Clark.

What sucks more is Tampa losing.

Morons. Now either Dallas or Philly will be in the playoffs.

did you see the last play

Garcia held the ball for about 2 hours and got sacked. Pathetic. You’ve gotta get rid of the ball in that situation. Well, I’m rooting for the Eagles now. They scare me less than the Cowboys.

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 4:14 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

No they didn't show that here.

I had Drew Brees gagging on a chance to set the passing record.

This is for the 6 seed, right?

The Falcons are locked into the seed, is that correct? In which case the winner of this plays the Vikings?

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 4:25 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Correct.

Hopefully they kill each other.

Because I’d expect the winner will be in great shape to beat the Vikings.

That also leaves Atlanta to play Arizona – should be a win for them too. So Atlanta would move on to Carolina and the winner of this game will play us. Get ready.

Save the neck for me, Clark.

He’s bad, in fact.

On a random note

I think the most disappointing thing about losing before was that Carney actually missed a field goal. I thought he was perfect…

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 4:32 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah had he made it we would have at least forced them to score a TD

and I bet we could have prevented that, but, oh well. On to the next.

This Eagles-Cowboys game is awesome

Watching the Cowboys implode is thoroughly entertaining, even if it is against my 2nd most-hated team. The gap in my hatred between the Cowboys and the Eagles is bigger than the gap between the Eagles and everyone else

by cjmulrain on Dec 28, 2008 5:45 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

LOL @ Romo

and the Cowboys in general.

Wade Phillips is the most clueless man on the planet. Pacman hands out free points before the half. The QB has the authority to override the coach’s decisions. Whitten and Romo draw up plays for TO now. That whole organization is in disarray.

Come on back, Terry!

Just LOLLERSKATES

at the Cowgirl performance. Phillips is fired by 5 AM tommorow, almost like an execution before sunrise.

by DoctorK16 on Dec 28, 2008 6:17 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Absolutely.

Despite the nepotism Phillips has enjoyed in his own career, he’s actually a blue collar type of coach, and is the absolutely wrong guy to manage this collection of criminals and prima donnas.

by Mr. Met on Dec 28, 2008 6:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yea

I’ve been reading their boards for the last hour. It’s hilarious.

The best thing about today: The Eagles won’t fire Andy Reid or get rid of McNabb, and the Cowboys might blow things up. I think we just clinched the 2009 NFC East title!

Also, with the exception of whatever is about to happen in the next 17 seconds, with the Jets at their own 1, Favre’s last meaningful pass was an interception. That’s twice now his career has ended with a pick. If anyone ever tries to argue that he’s better than Montana, Marino, Elway, or even Manning or Brady, I will laugh in their face.
