Six Giants in Pro Bowl
The great MG is out with the list of New York Giants going to the Pro Bowl. Here it is:
- QB Eli Manning
- C Shaun O'Hara
- G Chris Snee
- DE Justin Tuck
- P Jeff Feagles
- K John Carney
Glad to see both kickers go. They deserve it, especially Carney. The guy has been amazing. The full list should be available on NFL.com later today.

Webster
I know he doesn’t have Gaudy interception stats or a big name.. but he’s been as good as any Corner in the league this year.
Eli Manning- Pro Bowler.. Who woulda thunk?
It's not easy being Giants fan in Philly.. but it sure is satisfying
Isnt it odd they do this before the season is even over?
when there are still many meaningful games left, and a lot of numbers yet to be put up?
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
Hopefully they are too wiped
from another SB appearance to take part.
I'll buy that for a dollar!

Congratulations to Eli
Amazing to see how far he’s come.
Nice to see the old men getting there too.

Snee
has deserved to go for awhile now. Glad to see he’s finally getting his due. Congrats to the rest as well.
Webster probably should make it, but I think it’ll take a while for his name to get there. Where is Jacobs too? I can understand him not bring a starter, but shouldn’t he make the roster?
the problem(s) for Jacobs:
Adrian Peterson
DeAngelo Williams
Michael Turner
Clinton Portis
Brian Westbrook
There’s just a lot of good running backs in the NFC. I think Jacobs deserves it (he’s 2nd in YPC, behind DeAngelo, 3rd in TDs, and 7th in total yards), but it would be hard to argue with any of the above RB’s (I didn’t look it up to see which of them made it, but I’m sure at least a few did) going to Hawaii. RB is a stacked position in the NFC these days, which probably goes a ways toward explaining why the NFC has been resurgent this year.
wow
no DeAngelo? That’s an oversight – he’s 1st in TDs and YPC. In a related note, he makes me nervous for Sunday night…
AND he leads in the most important stat
0 TURNOVERS! DeAngelo hasn’t turned the ball over a single time. All the other RB selections have key fumbles.

Can't argue with any of them
and can’t really think of anyone else who really got snubbed. Robbins has been quiet the past few weeks.
Robbins
he’s playing as solid as any other DT in the league.
I’d also like to potentially see Seiburt and maybe Deihl in there. With the exception of one or two off games, those guys have been VERY solid this yr.
Robbins has been solid
but no sacks since Week 7. however, he’s probably on the short list should the Williams boys or Ratliff opt-out.

How long till the cascade of Eli bashers criticize this pick?

My thoughts
the Cowboys who made it this year actually deserved it. The DT class was way too strong to allow Robbins in as the Williams’ and Ratliff have been absolute monsters. Jacobs doesn’t deserve in over any of the running backs.. maybe if he had stayed healthy. I find it interesting that nearly every year the offensive tackle position has three left tackles represented and it makes me think that they should separate the two tackle positions to give the other guys who are just as important a chance plus Walter Jones does not deserve to be in the pro bowl, he’s old, hurt, a shell of his former self (probably because he doesn’t have steve hutchinson right next to him any more.) I’d rather have Corey Webster than any of those three NFC Cornerbacks.
On a Non Giants Note it’s good to see that Nnamdi Asomugha from the raiders because i think he’s the best CB in the league and nobody talks about him, probably because quarterbacks are terrified of throwing in his direction.

Panther fan, here.
And I hope you’ll entertain my question.
Give me the low-down, if you would, on why John Carney deserves a trip to the Pro Bowl. He hasn’t attempted a kick over 50 yards, and has missed two kicks, one from inside 40 yards.
So obviously I look at that and I think our guy should go. No one’s been more accurate for the whole season than John Kasay, and his only miss all year was from 58 yards.
So, I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but I’m struggling with that one thing and I just don’t see why it makes sense. Then again, it is the Pro Bowl, it doesn’t have to make sense…
He is close to the top of the NFL in scoring
and his only misses have been due to the protection in front of him letting people through. I’d say he more than qualifies. Though Kasay has been bad ass accurate this year, no doubt about it and would be a great choice as well.
both of Carney's misses
were blocked kicks, the first of which occurred b/c a guy literally jumped over our center. I don’t really know why the one in Philly got blocked, b/c I was at the game and they don’t show replays of bad plays for the Giants.
After having a guy like Tynes who missed multiple extra points last year, Carney has been a breath of fresh air. Yea, he doesn’t kick many really long ones, but he’s so money on what he does kick that it makes up for it. And to be honest, I don’t really remember many drives ending where I thought we were in FG range and we had to punt or go for it, so I’m not sure if it’s that he can’t kick a 50+ yarder or just that there haven’t been many situations for him to kick one.
