Attaboy!
Hopefully, the Giants can keep their eyes on the prize.

From Mike Garafolo
A bit of good news for the Giants: RB Brandon Jacobs, who was listed as questionable for today’s game with a knee injury, is expected to play, according to someone familiar with his status who requested anonymity. That is, of course, barring any setbacks in warm-ups.

This is it on Plax from me,
from NJ.com:
LANDOVER, Md. – Giants president and CEO John Mara and GM Jerry Reese held a brief session with reporters in the press box here at FedEx Field a few minutes ago in which Mara expressed regret the team is dealing with the Plaxico Burress situation.
“I’m disappointed this happened and that any of our guys would put themselves in this kind of situation,” Mara said. “Or first concern is for Plaxico’s health and well-being. We were very relieved to find out he is okay. But yeah, I’m disappointed.”
Reese seemed disappointed he hasn’t yet had a chance to talk to Burress.
“I reached out to him. I did not get a return phone call,” Reese said. “So I haven’t spoken to him yet.”
Giants WR Plaxico Burress will surrender to authorities when requested — without a warrant — and will address his legal issues as early as tomorrow, according to the lawyer who will be representing him, Benjamin Brafman.
Ok, enough about him.

no Bradshaw
I guess his next was a problem. With the rain and a Jacobs nixed could be see a bit of Danny Ware today.
Well either Ware or Droughns
I can’t imagine the Giants are going to risk Jacobs with more carries with Bradshaw out. I wouldn’t mind seeing Danny Ware carry the ball a little

I hope Hixon
and does Hixon get kickoff return duty or will it be someone else now that’s starting?
by McConkidonk on Nov 30, 2008 12:32 PM EST up reply actions
Gotta be Hixon
Hixon and D-Ward are the only ones who really have the experience. We’ll see.

a case can made that AP
was as dumb as Plax. Ray Lewis can give advice about how bad an idea obstruction of justice is.
Great start so far
Hixon looks great, and Eli was fitting those balls in their real tight that drive. And the Redskins are doing there best Notre Dame impression so far (2 straight 3 and outs)
Eli
Is on F*ing fire. He’s on the $$ today; even in these conditions. I love it.
Hix looks great. You better believe Reese is going to say to Plax, “do you really think we need this BS, plax?”
Wow, I gotta admit
that drive was scary in its efficiency. Eli was sooo accurate. If I were the Skins, I’d let Jacobs run it. At least the Giants wouldn’t score so fast.
Wow
Toomer is looking great too, and the Redskins shot themselves in the foot with the penalty (too easy to make a Plax joke there, but I couldn’t think of a better way to phrase it)
Hall misses a tackle
on 3rd down. Kenny Phillips has made two drive-stopping tackles on third down. Those are things that decide games.

golden opportunity...
Bummer, that’s when it hurts to settle for a FG instead of a TD.
Good drive though. Skins tightened up in the green zone
yep
and I still hate calling it the green zone, especially the way we seem to struggle down there. I almost hate seeing us get first downs inside the 10, b/c I have little confidence we’ll punch it in. I prefer having the ball 15+ yards out, that seems to be how we score our TD’s.
Now let’s get another 3 and out.
One Plax thought
The minute we cut him the Cowgirls or Redskins will sign him and we will have to game plan against his ass twice a year. Keep this mind.
I agree 100% with you
This is the NFL; every team thinks they can cure the malcontents and headcases. There will always be a place for a troubled yet talented player. I’m not saying that this should be the only reason for the Gmen to NOT cut Plax – but the minute the GMen cut him, someone else will pick him up. Simple as that. And yeah, odn’t be surprised to see him in Philly, Dallas, or Washington.
I don't think Philly
because Andy Reid tasting TO probably might make him skittish. But JJ and Snyder will be on the phone with Rosenhaus in no time flat.
Ward screen
OK, I am officially tired of the ripping of Gilbride now. We have had a direct snap, a beautiful screen to Boss and another imaginative screen to Ward. The guy keeps adding stuff to this offense all the time.
the only time I criticize Gilbride
is when he tries to get too cute down by the goal line. With our O-line and Jacobs, there’s no reason to ever call a shotgun draw inside the 5.
In Gilbride’s defense though, the players have had a hard time punching it in when they get down there no matter what is called, so I don’t really blame all those problems on him
screen taken long by Ward
Redskins defense always had trouble defending that, even back to the Tiki days.
obviously is early in the game
But are the Giants sending another “big” message" to the rest of the NFL saying, NOTHING CAN AFFECT US!!! AND WE WILL WIN GAMES NO MATTER WHAT
Wow
I’m kinda surprised the Redskins have only had 1 leading rusher since 1933, and it wasn’t even Riggins. I always thought of them as a power-rush type team, so that seems strange.
Oh, and great sack!
ah crap
If Portis is hurt and out for the rest of the game, my fantasy team will finish with a combined 6 points from my running backs this week, and I need a win to make the playoffs. I was hoping Portis could get a junk time TD or something, after the Giants put the game away!
Hixon
is playing every down, plus punt returns. I think the kickoff thing is just a way to give him a little break.
by Ed Valentine on Nov 30, 2008 2:29 PM EST up reply actions
wow
Toomer is looking rejuvenated. And with that, Eli’s over 200 yards passing, with 7 minutes left in the first half.
I think it's a catch
he had solid possession of the ball all through that roll, even if the ball did graze the ground.
That's what happens when phantom calls get made to negate a turnover
nothing more irritating than watching your defense dominate all game, then have one bad drive…where they step-up big and stop the drive with a pick…only to have it negated by some non-existent penalty that the referees seemed to pull out of their @$$.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Nov 30, 2008 2:37 PM EST up reply actions
yeah baby!!
Jacobs should have been in on the 1st play.
Great drive. Clutch play by Eli. Glad they didn’t have to settle for 3. Yadda Yadda Yadda.
The Redskins played "Bad to the Bone"
after that INT – lol!
Watch me paste this pathetic palooka with a powerful paralyzing perfect pachyderms percussion pitch.
Every time I see that slant play
that Hixon did so well there, I think of Patrick Clayton missing that easy huge gain for the Cowgirls in the playoffs last year. Ah, the memories.
Watch me paste this pathetic palooka with a powerful paralyzing perfect pachyderms percussion pitch.
We're getting into that non-competitive game range
where the networks switch to a “better” game. I think that’s why the Giants always play to the level of their competition.
Ugh - I hate that corner pass on 3rd and 2
Watch me paste this pathetic palooka with a powerful paralyzing perfect pachyderms percussion pitch.
I hate giving it to Ward on 2nd and 1
when Jacobs is finally finding his groove.
But is anyone more awesome than Carney? One miss all year, and it was a block.

Execution and play calling tightened up a little too much in the red/green zone though
I really don’t get it; whether its Gilbride or failure to execute…
either way, the Giants have to just play better in the red/green zone. Sometimes the 3 just isn’t going to cut it.
Wow, Moose made a good point
Saying that Plax speaking in the 3rd person was shirking the responsibility.
PS: Plax will be charged with criminal possession of a handgun. Grrrrrrrrrrreat.
Siragusa has a little experience there too.
Watch me paste this pathetic palooka with a powerful paralyzing perfect pachyderms percussion pitch.
Oh, don't compare Plax's situation to Taylor's
Taylor may not have been the greatest of guys, but he didn’t deserve what he got, and certainly didn’t bring it upon himself with an act of gross stupidity and recklessness.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Nov 30, 2008 3:54 PM EST reply actions
i think the comparison
is apt in that Taylor fate might have been why Burress felt he needed to pack heat
Taylor got shot in his home
if Burress is so paranoid about his safety, he shouldn’t feel justified bringing a gun around with him, so much as he shouldn’t be going places where he feels a gun is needed to begin with…which I’m glad Goose just mentioned.

Redskins must love junk stats
because this drive is going to serve no real purpose. Just like week one against the Giants, when Kiwi got that cheap-hit put on him on tone of the last plays of the game. And now Campbell gets destroyed by Tuck…just bad all around.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Nov 30, 2008 4:04 PM EST reply actions
It was the end
down by at LEAST two scores, 1 minute left. It’s done. At a certain point, it’s considered foolhardy and just play DANGEROUS. It would be inexcusable if they were losing by 40, and this was equally as ‘done’ a game.

Good win today.
Should be an interesting week ahead.
Watch me paste this pathetic palooka with a powerful paralyzing perfect pachyderms percussion pitch.
Good win
it wasn’t the crispest game (they should have won about 35-0), but I’ll take it. 11-1 for the first time ever, not too shabby. I’m going to the game next week (even though I have a final the next day…eek). Last time I went to a Giants-Eagles game, they set a record for most sacks in a game. Hopefully this time they’ll tie a record for most consecutive wins against teams with winning records.
smart move
make sure he’s away from the team for the rest of the season, but it gives them a chance to hold off on making an ultimate decision until the season is over.
