Off to Philly!
This Eagles team is playing as good as anyone right now. The QB play is awesome and the D is versatile and fierce. And they looked prime for a Giant ass-whooping. Excuse me for gloating, it's not very often my Giants don't play down to the competition. Everyone was whispering 'trap game'. Dallas was playing 'loose' and with 'nothing to lose'. Yeah, ok.
They had a lot to lose and now find themselves in the NFC East basement. Every team in this division has improved vastly over the last year. Except the 'boys, who after cruising through last season can't, seem to buy a W. The Redskins will be looking to bury them in 2 weeks and we get to gain some more separation from the Eagles, next. If it's Giants Skins for the NFC East. Advantage Big Blue.
I continue to get ahead of myself but we're 8 games into the season and the good teams continue to emerge leaving Eagles and Boys on the outside looking in. First thing is first, go to Philly and make another statement.

Amen!
I am a lil worried about Westbrooke in the open, but it should be a good game. I would think the Eagles will be favorites by 2.5, basically home field advantage.

Big day for the G-Men's D
The Iggles don’t really have a deep threat to speak of, so that means a big day for the defense, lots of pressure on McNabb – who isn’t as mobile as he was 2-3 years ago.

DeSean Jackson
unless you meant “they don’t have a deep threat who will cross the goal line with the football in his hands”

I don't get it.
You faced the Cowboys who have proven that they can’t stop the run, nor can they shut down opposing offenses. They are among the worst in the league in points given up per game, and are THE worst in the NFC east. And gee, while we’re at it, the Giants avg. 28 pts per game, with the Eagles at 27.5, with the defenses being comparably ranked among the best in the NFL.
Also, in terms of deep threats, we recently got ours back from injury – Kevin Curtis. Who btw out performed your Plaxico Burress last season…you do consider Plax a deep threat, right?
So lets see, we have comparable offenses, comparable defenses…I’m going to give the ST advantage to us since we have a better return game, and lets face it a better punter. If you don’t agree, go check out the statistics over at NFL.com.
Don’t give me this nonsense that this will be a washout and the Giants will roll the Eagles. For starters, when you pressure donovan he may give up a sack but he doesn’t fumble the ball and he doesn’t throw interceptions under pressure – like manning does. (Check that stats on that one as well).
This game is going to be played like it’s always been played, it’ll be close from start to finish and the team that makes the fewest mistakes will be the one that wins. So I wouldn’t go chalking this one up as a win just yet, lets wait for Sunday night.

Well thwalls
I never said we win going away. But I do expect a W. We’re playing Giant football. Run run run pass WIN. And say all you want about Curtis v Plax. When it is all said and done. PLAX OWNS THE EAGLES. There is a reason we are 7-1 and the Eagles are 5-3. And if you haven’t seen the last few games, the Giants spent most of the games in the opposing teams red zone. But all the talking will be done on the field. Im not gunna sit here and compare b/c I know which team is better. I don’t need stats to prove anything. If I did that for every game, Giants don’t beat the Packs, Boys, and Pats last year in the playoffs. And its the SAME TEAM.

Easy now
This will be one helluva game. Going into Philly is always a great challenge. I wouldn’t think any Giants fans are believing that the G-men walk into Philly and blow the Eagles out. Nobody said it would be a washout. It will be a great game.
Let me take on a couple of your arguments, though, and I am not going to go digging thru stats to do it.
1. Eli vs. McNabb — Two tremendous QBs. If any Giants fans don’t think McNabb is at the top of his game, check his 349-yard passing game Sunday. As for Eli, he lost two fumbles Sunday — the first two he has lost all season. As for INTs, you must be thinking of the Eli of a couple of years ago. If that’s the QB you think you are facing you are sadly mistaken. Check the career high completion percentage and QB rating.
2. Special Teams — Yeah, you have good returners. Have you checked Domenic Hixon as a punt returner? He’s the best the Giants have had in a long time. As for punters, don’t give me this nonsense about how much better the Eagles punter is. Have you ever watched Jeff Feagles? He’s the best directional punter in the history of football, and a tremendous weapon in the field position game. Oh, and the only field goal we have missed all year was blocked.
3. Deep threat. Yes, we know about DeSean Jackson. And yes, Plax is a deep threat. You are fooling yourself if you think he isn’t. So is Hixon. And each one of the Giants backs is a breakaway threat every time they touch the ball. Don’t even start trying to compare offenses — the Eagles are good, but the Giants have so many more weapons than Philly it’s not even funny.
All of that said, this will be a terrific game. It could go either way. Relax, root for your team and enjoy it.

you're exactly right
“this game is going to be played like it’s always been played…” – couldn’t have said it better myself. i’m certainly not chalking this up as a win, especially not as a blowout. after the win in Pittsburgh two weeks ago, i’m confident that the Giants can go on the road and beat a great Philly team. i’m not sure if they will, but i’m pretty sure it will be a great game.

From a Philly Fan...
During the last Superbowl, I had a really wierd feeling in my stomach. A strange knot that hadnt been there before……
Joy for the Giants? Happiness? Really? It was! I was actually happy and excited that the Pats fell to the Giants. The story was great, and I actually got on the Giants Bandwagon (for just a minute) and stayed on it long enough to drive right on through Strahans Gap!!
Now on to this year….Looking forward to watching a heck of a Sunday night brawl! I hope both teams bring their A game. My feelings have returned to a strong dislike for the Giants and we’re ready to roll! Visit BGN sometime this week and check in….
Good Luck…………

Yeah ,I wont underestimate the Eagles a bit
While I don’t hold their offense in as much esteem as their fans. their Defense is absolutely ferocious. Should be a hell of a game. The one thing gnawing at me though is , I’ve noticed over the years some otherwise great teams just don’t play well at night. The giants one loss was a night game. I hope I’m wrong.
We're only gonna score 17 points?
