One of these days
I’ll post my recipe, and maybe get some suggestions on how to improve them, if that’s possible, LOL

If you're thinking
of posting wing recipes, I think it’s a hell of a good idea. People could comment their own recipes, etc.

question for Ravens fans
i totally forgot to ask this during the week…
rank these teams in order of hatred Colts, Browns, Steelers (or anyone else i might’ve missed).
in case you were wondering, mine is 1) Philly, 2) Washington, 3) Dallas (everyone hates Dallas, so it’s not as cool), 4) Jets, 5) 49ers.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Nov 16, 2008 11:43 AM EST reply actions
For me its
1. Dallas (nothing boils hotter than my hatred for that team and their fans)
2. The Jets. Hate the team, hate their fans, and I absolutely despise Joe Namath.
3. Philly (their lack of Super Bowls keeps them from contending for the top spot)
4. The Cardinals (weird I know, but I lived their for 7 years and had to put up with their fans every year when the Cards were still in the East. I am looking forward to renewing this hatred next Sunday)
5. Vikings. Their fans, the bad losses to them, and they play indoors.
Was never able to truly hate the Skins.

My order
1) Philly,
2) Dallas,
3) Washington (they are moving up this season),
4) Tampa Bay,
5) I don’t know if I have a 5. I used to really hate Baltimore, they would have been #3, but now that they have Flacco I don’t hate them anymore. And I used to really hate the Colts, they would have been ahead of TB, but ever since the Super Bowl I’ve become a bigger Peyton fan, and can’t hate them as much anymore. Maybe the Pats, who I didn’t hate at all prior to the SB.
I like the Jets, since everyone else in my family are Jets fans. And Joe Montana was my favorite non-Giant when I was a kid, so I’ve never had a problem with the Niners.
The Steelers and the Colts are pretty much interchangable. Older fans, who were around when the Colts were Baltimore’s team, are hostile towards our old franchise. It’s still outrageous to me that Johnny U, among others, asked for his name to be removed from anything that had ties with Indianapolis, yet the NFL would not oblige. Can you imagine if Jim Brown was put in Canton as a Raven? I can’t say I was proud of our fans, though, when Indy came into town in the 2006 playoffs.
However, the Ravens have a pretty good thing going with the Steelers right now; they have been very competitive since the Ravens came into existence, and it usually comes down to the Ravens and the Steelers at seasons end. However, the Pittsburgh animosity stems purely from that fact that we’re divisonal foes, and their rivals are clearly the Browns. Baltimore doesn’t really have a rival, but I guess we do have quite a bit of hatred towards a few franchises.
1.) Steelers
2.) Colts
——Gaping hole——
3.) Redskins
My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver
That Skins rivalry is a baltimore D.C. thing though. But my list goes something like that, I dont have that history of hating the Colts, but since they always seem to beat us… they’ve slowly started creeping up my list

i forgot about the Skins
what is that like? is it kind of like the Jets/Giants thing around these parts? do the traditional Skins fans hate the Ravens?
for some reason this intrigues me.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Nov 16, 2008 12:59 PM EST up reply actions
ravens are new
so i don’t think skins fans really care too much. Nothing down here compares to dallas-skins. Just learned something new this week too, one of the reasons the rivalry is so big is a lot of the black fans started rooting for Dallas back in the day because the Redskins were one of the last segregated teams, so whole families here grow up Cowboys fans
Well we’d hate D.C. even if it wasn’t because of the Skins. Its a history I hate yet to understand.

The hatred between the Redskins and Ravens
Is the exact opposite between the Nationals and the Orioles. Oriole fans don’t view the Nationals as a real team or a rival. This is especially heated over Angelos’ work to prevent DC from getting a team. Same thing is true with the Ravens in that Jack Kent Cook did everything he could to prevent Baltimore from getting a team. Redskin fans still view us as little insignificant upstarts and we hate their old owner for allowing Carolina and Jacksonville getting an expansion team over us and forcing us to get involved with the whole Modell mess.

revised score prediction: Giants 23, Ravens 17 F/OT. Tynes misses from 27, 29, 34, and 37 yards in the first three quarters but hits from 51 to force OT. he then runs into the tunnel in celebration, forcing the Giants to convert three fourth downs in Ravens territory before scoring the game-winning touchdown – Eli to Boss.

The conundrum for tonight....
Do we prefer a Dallas win to hopefully open the gap between the Giants and Skins?
Or do we prefer a Skins win because its always nice to see Dallas lose?
Personally, I think I would rather just see the Giants win, and then the Skins beat Dallas. If Dallas wins, we’re going to hear all week how “Dallas is back”

It won't be that lopsided
The combination of conservative playcalling by the Giants and our defense settling down will limit them in the second half. They may, however, score 35 by halftime.

Hopefully
all fear of losing goes away, and they let Flacco just air it. We have one games late in the forth quarter…granted they were a lot closer and it was against the likes of the Browns…and comparing the Giants to the Browns is like comparing the Giants to a troupe of girl scouts.

wow
that’s a nice roster. I have Portis, Fast Willie Parker, Kevin Smith, Dominic Rhodes, and Jamal Charles. My team was in first place until 3 weeks ago, when Portis got shut down by the Steelers, then was on bye last week, and is out this week. He’s been my fantasy MVP, and him not playing is killing me. Hopefully Romo makes up for it tonight! (and yes, I do feel dirty rooting for Romo)

they still get the ball and have the momentum.

side note
Jacobs has two carries this half.
i mean, why stick with what works right? let’s let Eli throw to the Ravens’ defenders instead.

Lazy, lazy, lazy
The only word to describe the Giants defense in this half
wow
i think the kudos to Ross is a no-brainer.

tough for Flacco
he’s having a really nice game. the first INT he forced, but that last one was on Rice.

Flacco
6 car, 57 yds.
McGahee/Rice: 13 car, 27 yds.

Ack, I was hoping Bradshaw would get that TD
He deserved it
i'd really like Jake
to get those extra 27 yards. i want Ray Ray to have trouble sleeping tonight.

193 yards rushing
i think it’s pretty clear that this rush offense is unstoppable. i think the 2000 Ravens would have trouble keeping them under 200.

speaking of which
No mention of the Super Bowl, I think, how many Giants are still on the team? Just Toomer I think, right?
yeah
during the SB they did a special on the 2000 game and they only talked to Toomer and Stray.

i think my prediction of
35(34) to 13 Giants is looking pretty realistic right now

throw on first down
why not? just had a 77-yard run and 193 on the ground today. we’re at the 2-yard line and Eli has already thrown one pick and two more should’ve-been-picks. hey, let’s throw the ball!

you gotta be kidding me, 70 yd run and then a FG

This is why I hate CBS. Hate it.
Either they fuck up coverage of the game, or they play the Patriots game instead of the Giants.
Assholes.
For that matter, how could Phill Simms not be doing the Giants game?
I wish he would go to Fox, i cant stand Aikman

my wife said they did a special on espn in the pregrame
I refused to watch and told her not to call it the Miracle in the Meadowlands
The Giants are impressive
Thanks to the way that the NFL carves up coverage into little regions, its gets easy to only watch and follow your team and get blinders on to the quality of your opponents. It was a complete domination and you all should be proud. The ravens have lost this year, but never so dominated in every aspect of the game. Your lines on both sides of the ball are something to watch in action. No shame in losing to a team of this quality.
"When they get drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, we expect them to play like that. Are we surprised? No."

i feel like being an ass... (take no offense to it)
BOOOOOOO!!!! I hope by some strange fashion we get to play you all in the superbowl and we win…
AHHH, that makes me feel better.
Great game buys, wish you best of luck the rest of the season

I must say, as a Giants' fan that was a positively awesome game!
another thing I really enjoyed was the discussions on this blog throughout the week. I didn’t add much because everyone else had it covered, but I found the Baltimore fans to be extremely classy and insightful. I choose to reman true to the “week at a time” philosophy that our boys have carried throughout the last two seasons to great success and I am really looking forward to Arizona next week. Today was a good day. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!
