New York Giants notes, 10.21.08
Maybe Dallas coach Wade Phillips should ask to skip playing the New York Giants this season.
There are already calls for Jerry Jones to fire Phillips as Dallas coach, and it seems playing the Giants this season is a death knell for coaches of struggling teams.
The San Francisco 49ers fired Mike Nolan Monday, a day after losing to the Giants. Earlier this season, the St. Louis Rams canned coach Scott Linehan after a loss to the Giants.
- Plaxico Burress is trying to move past Sunday's heated exchange with coach Tom Coughlin.
- Here is the transcript of Coughlin's wide-ranging Monday press conference.
- Eli Manning also spoke to the media Monday.
- Aaron Ross says he hasn't lost any confidence.

One more (head coach) knockout
and the Giants are Triple Crown winners!
We're only gonna score 17 points?

Not that I encourage tempers but...
A little intensity can do wonders for performance. Remember the game where Simms got into it with Parcells? Now that was intense. I don’t make too much of this little spat between Coughlin and Plaxico in the heat of the battle. Plaxico should have a good game against his old mates this week.

Good point, 57, but
Plax isn’t Simms and TC isn’t Tuna. Four different guys with two different histories. I hope you’re right—that a liitle spat in the heat of battle—Plax has a rep, he’s been fined and suspended, etc., etc. I agree he should have a great game vs. his old team. It figures that he wants to, so he should go full bore all the way

I still
have confidence in Ross too. He had a bad game against the Browns, but really only had 1 bad play against SF. He’s going to take his lumps, since he’s still on the steep learning curve of being a starter for less than a year. He still has the talent to be very good.

I agree, pot. I see Ross making All-Pro
in a few years. He’s had a lot more good plays than bad ones.
