Tynes off and kicking
[Note by ETVal, 10/16/08 12:21 PM EDT: apparently, Lawrence Tynes spoke too soon. Tom Coughlin says he has not yet decided who will kick Sunday.]
So, the John Carney-Lawrence Tynes debate we have been having for weeks now appears to be moot.
Tynes says he is kicking Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Since Carney has gone 12-for-12 in field goals, I'm sure Tynes understands that the bar has been set pretty high in terms of placekicking performance.
"I'm just going to continue to do what he's done for us. He's helped us out tremendously," Tynes said. "I've learned a lot in five weeks with him that's going to help me with preparation, staying healthy and staying in this league. I'm looking forward to doing just as well as he has."
Let's hope he can.

Many of us here
are getting on in middle age. With that sometimes our physiques are not all they used to be. Please join me on Sunday during kickoffs , field goals and extra points. Prior to each, exhale and tighten the stomach……. hold until Tynes leg has come full circle and don’t breath in until the play is over or the ball has landed. You’ll notice the positive health effects after a few weeks and maybe even get some extra attention from that significant other. If your so inclined, prayer might help too.
We're only gonna score 17 points?
