Amidst all the Tony Gonzalez talk, let's not forget the Giants have a huge game tonight agains the Cleveland Browns.

With the losses by Dallas and Washington this weekend the Giants could take a big step forward in the NFC East race with a win tonight. Let's not forget, the last 11 games of the schedule are brutal so the Giants can't let any of these 'should win' games slip away.

I have a paper due tomorrow morning

that I haven’t even started, some of my favorite TV shows are on tonight, the baseball playoffs are in full swing, and the Giants are on MNF! Sensory overload…

I’m gonna try to watch the Giants game while writing my paper. We’ll see how productive I am…

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 7:22 PM EDT   0 recs

for me is huge

I have not been able to watch the giants play since the opener, I work on sunday mornings, if the games were at 4 then yes, so I became an internet junkie listening games over the giants.com page. So I won’t be here to comment, but I will read everything tomorrow (unless they loose wich is unlikely, I hope)

MNF

This would be a huge win the way the NFC East is shaping up. The tough part of the schedule is yet to come, and building a cushion would be a great thing.

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 7:43 PM EDT   0 recs

yes

Like I said earlier, I’m glad the GMen saw how teams lost yesterday so they are more focused, I don’t care if they win by 1 point, as long as we get some distance from the other teams

Inactives

Here are your inactives tonight, courtesy of Mike Garafolo.
K Lawrence Tynes
S Sammy Knight
RB Danny Ware
CB Sam Madison
LB Jonathan Goff
OL Adam Koets
DE Dave Tollefson
WR Sinorice Moss

Surprised to see Moss on the list. What does the guy have to do? He caught two touchdown passes last week.

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 7:50 PM EDT   0 recs

so no Lawrence Tynes for tonighe either

As long as Carney do better kickoffs than last week

A poster on NJ.com made an interesting point

Is Moss inactive because he is on the trading table?

I need 9 more points out of Edwards and Jacobs to get off the snide in my fantasy team.

I hope Jacobs runs all over em. And god forbid the Browns get a TD it better be Edwards.

by Woogie526 on Oct 13, 2008 8:51 PM EDT   0 recs

strange sequence of kickoffs

they drop the ball and it bounces into the endzone. Ours bounces before a player can catch it and we have to dive on it. Have you ever seen 2 consecutive kickoffs with no return that weren’t kicked into the endzone or onsides kicks?

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 8:52 PM EDT   0 recs

Lets hope no more balls bounce their way.

Giants are lucky to only be losing by 3.

Very nice

Jacobs showing why you shouldn’t talk smack before a football game

that was a terrible call

This is probably the first time I've had

stomach frustration at the Giants since the beginning of the Buffalo game last year

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 9:41 PM EDT   0 recs

Maybe an attitude adjustment

Giants are not matching the intensity of the Browns

My cable-deprived husband and I are at home

…unable to watch ESPN and assuming the Giants would slaughter. You’re not really saying the Browns could win are you??? Say it ain’t so, Joe!

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

by juperee on Oct 13, 2008 9:42 PM EDT   0 recs

give the Browns

some credit. Their not a bad team, are at home and hungry for win number 2.

by DoctorK16 on Oct 13, 2008 9:42 PM EDT   0 recs

I disagree

They ARE a bad team, they’ve been terrible so far, and they are taking it to the Giants

Giants fan from the womb to the tomb

they are also

basically the same team that was a whisker away from making the playoffs last year

--->forever greatful to the Giants for that whole 18-1 thang

Ok, that's Grateful, but you know what I mean

Giants are awesome, and that’s from a Bears-Colts marriage

Pierce is back

Man

When Pierce is getting beat by Darnell Dinkins that tells you he does not belong on the field. Yikes!

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 9:50 PM EDT   0 recs

Alright

lets get some points before the half, then get the ball back to begin the 2nd half. Still a lot of football to be played.

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 9:53 PM EDT   0 recs

Alright boys

Not too quick now ;)

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 9:57 PM EDT   0 recs

you've gotta be kidding

thank god for that penalty

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 10:00 PM EDT   0 recs

Well, worst case *knock on wood*

We get 3 here, and hope for a TD to open the second half and to retake the momentum

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 10:04 PM EDT   0 recs

Yes!!!

Plaxico is such a nice red zone target. That was a huge drive

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 10:05 PM EDT   0 recs

17-14 at half

This could have been much, much worse. If the Giants can get some stops on defense they can win this game. But, nothing is easy in the NFL.

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 10:16 PM EDT   0 recs

So much for the halftime adjustment

Keeping them to 3

Not bad. I have a nagging feeling that we are going to come back. This game should not be this close.

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 10:31 PM EDT   0 recs

I'm not sure I want to see Ross

jumping around like an idiot on a play he didn’t even do anything on

What in the fucking world are you doing...

… running to the middle on 2nd and 12?

assert our will

Unleash Jacobs man, they don’t have an answer for him

by queler on Oct 13, 2008 10:43 PM EDT   0 recs

It feels like

the Browns should be winning by 3 scores or more. This has just been an ugly game so far for the Giants. Hopefully they can pull it out and never play a team from Ohio again

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 10:49 PM EDT   0 recs

what the hell

they couldn’t swallow their whistles earlier, and that wasn’t a hold?

3rd downs

are killing us

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 10:52 PM EDT   0 recs

where is our mastermind defensive coordinator?

by staypuft on Oct 13, 2008 10:52 PM EDT   0 recs

this is shitty

the lack of pressure on the QB didn’t burn us last week but it’s burning us tonight

by JoshNY on Oct 13, 2008 10:52 PM EDT   0 recs

seriously

we’re not getting there, stop blitzing, this looks like the first two games last year

by queler on Oct 13, 2008 10:53 PM EDT   0 recs

I was just thinking

How many times will they send 6 guys and have it not work before maybe they try something else?

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 10:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

this is the most frustrating game

I’ve watched in a loooooong time. I almost wish they’d just march down and score, but the constant penalties then first downs are killing me.

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 10:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Well

We are gonna lose this one folks. We knew it had to happen eventually.

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 10:58 PM EDT   0 recs

NO pass rush

Giants haven’t gotten near Anderson all night.

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 10:58 PM EDT   0 recs

Seriously! How can they not get to him?

They have the Giants Def playbook or something. this is frustrating.

Not over yet. Still the 4th to play.

by losangelesmets on Oct 13, 2008 11:00 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Defense

Giants just can’t stop these guys. Oh well, you knew they wouldn’t win ’em all.

by ETVal on Oct 13, 2008 10:59 PM EDT   0 recs

C'mon

I am no optimist, but after seeing this weekend I know this game is not over.

by losangelesmets on Oct 13, 2008 11:01 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

still not over

look at the Colts-Texans game last weekend and like every game yesterday.

That said, they need to figure out how to stop these guys. They haven’t let a team go down the field on them like this since the Patriots in the regular season finale, but at least that was understandable.

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 11:02 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Tuck

They have neutralized Justin Tuck and I hate to see Ross go down.

by losangelesmets on Oct 13, 2008 11:03 PM EDT   0 recs

ugh

you’ve gotta be kidding my. I thought the Browns were offsides on that.

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 11:09 PM EDT   0 recs

Maybe we should take Burress out of the game

Apparently any player with talent makes Manning suck

by nyg2008 on Oct 13, 2008 11:10 PM EDT   0 recs

Derrick Ward

he was kinda the unforgotten man this offseason, we were all so enamored with Bradshaw and Jacobs, but so far you could argue that he’s been the Giants best and most important back this year.

by cjmulrain on Oct 13, 2008 11:14 PM EDT   0 recs
