Monday night
If we win tonight we'll be 5-0. With a 2 game lead on all our competition. Not just the Boys' and Skins' (chances are we hit the meat of our sched. with this lead), but the previously feared Panthers who mustered a FG against the Bucs. With the Skin's losing to the Rams after impressive wins against you all know who, we can say they may not be ready for the limelight.
Even more fun thinking about other than tonight is the thought of waking up Tuesday with Gonzo on his way to N.J. With him and much tougher competition ahead we may just have the final piece to our offensive juggernaut.
Thinking about it, considering that our division opp have to battle 1 more time a piece they will prey on one another while we reap the benefits. As long as we take care of our remaining 5 games we should have the division in hand.
There is not another divisional game until we take one the Boys'. If we split with them and the Eagles in the first 2 contests we will be in good shape, considering they will all be wrapping up their season series, following us opening 2 of ours. Worst we go is 3-2; that leaves us with 4-2 in a division. Eagles already matched that by losing to Boys' and Skins'. And the Boys' and Skins' each have 1 with 4 more to play.
With the cushion we're building now, so long as we don't implode and play strong ball, the soft 1st half of the sched. may be what wins us the division and #1 seed. Considering we're the only team free of the parity hitting football, thus far, the road to the SB through the NFC runs through Giants Stadium baby.
Look at this parity off the top of my head. Jets beat Fins. Who beats the Bolts and Pats. Who both beat the Jets. Who then defeat the Cards(handily), who then beat the Boy's. Who have lost to the Skins'. Who lost to the Rams, who both lost to our beloved G-Men. That's parity.
Now I know am getting way ahead of myself. But who cares. That's what us fans are hear for. Let our team worry about it on a week to week basis. Looking ahead, last season's "magic" is far from gone.
One more thing. The Skin's winning both those games no doubt helped us out. It was the BIGGEST monkey wrench thus far, thrown into a division sans the Falcons (but their 0-2 in the NFC South). Thank you Skins'!
