Gonzalez a Giant?

According to Fox Sports', Jay Glazer, Jay believes that Tony Gonzalez should be a New York Giant. He believes that they should trade him for the picks that were from the Shockey trade and give it to the Chiefs for Tony Gonzalez. So it would be a Gonzo for Shockey trade. This would happen only because the Chiefs are a rebuilding team that is might be willing to give up Tony Gonzalez. Yes the Giants would have one of or if not, the best red-zone offenses in the league.

What do you think?

I thought

you were talking about our Gonzo. I would say ok, if you give us Hixon!

that's silly

As we discussed when Shockey left, an awesome TE is a luxury that we probably can’t afford under the cap, and don’t really need, with all this WR depth and an elite WR

Gonzalez

is about 40 ,isn’t he?

We're only gonna score 17 points?

Is the NY

Media picking up this story? Just wondering how much steam this is actually gaining. There has been some discussion on it over at Arrowead pride.

Gonzalez has a few years left in him

It would be a good move for the Giants. His numbers are still among the best and is still in incredibly good shape.

We’ve been talking over at Arrowhead Pride about the possibilities. Our GM, Carl Peterson, is a notoriously tough negotiator.

Apparently the Giants are offering a 6th and the Chiefs wants a 3rd.

Damn, he's well worth a third.

I think he’s the best TE ever.

Numbers

I don’t think the problem is entirely the picks. We got a 2nd and a 5th for Shockey. I think we have some cap room, too. But we have three young TEs on the team that we like, not that any of them might evolve into a Gonzalez. But there’s already three RBs and six WRs who want the ball, not counting Tyree. With his offensive skills, Gonzalez would force defenses to make tough choices on who to cover. He might also be a good role model for the young TEs. Like we said during training camp, Droughns and McQuarters have gotta be nervous.
