Eli getting some respect

Interesting article today by Don Banks of SI.com, ranking playoff quarterbacks.

Banks has our man Eli ranked 4th, behind Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre BUT ahead of Tony Romo and Matt Hasselbeck.

I'm not sure I agree with those rankings. It seems like a stretch to put Eli ahead of Romo and Hasselbeck based on two very good back-to-back games.

Nonetheless, that is what Banks thinks. I'm sure it will stir up a little debate around here.

those rankings are obviously based
on the last 2 games both QBs played rather than the their body of work over the entire season, otherwise Eli would be in the pro bowl and Romo wouldn't.

You're right ETVal, its a really big stretch. We'll see which QB plays the best Sunday, I know I'd bet my next paycheck its #9.

to terry's credit
he's pretty much right, and wasnt being jerk.  but that was still a juicy meatball he lobbed over the plate for us.

well, lets just say I make enough money
to travel to Dallas once a year(I reside in PA) to watch the Cowboys play (this season against the Pats, 30 yd line lower level) and other wonderful destinations.

I'm sure it would be enough for many of you to live on for quite a while.

I don't know....
This all could be said with a Giant victory. Little early to be putting Eli on a top five. I tell you though I have no doubt in his mental toughness and perception of whats around him. When everything clicks, seeing him on these lists will be no surprise.

Agreed
I am just not sure he belongs there yet.

Eli
I would have to be looking through blue colored glasses to agree with that ranking.  It's not realistic to place Eli above Romo just yet.
However it has been encouraging lately to see Eli show a little better body language and some actual excitement.

As for Romo lets not forget that in spite of his great potential he has only played for a few games.  Terry, don't forget that there is a fairly long list of great quarterbacks that have strung together more good seasons than Romo has games under his belt.  And Romo hasn't distinguished himself in a few of those.  I think he might be an excellent quarterback but has yet to pass the test of time.

anyone else getting nervous
about all the giants love?

im used to the articles asking for TC's firing and about eli being a bust and about the fans booing during home games.

i don't want our boys too cocky going into dallas.  but if they've read anything written this week, their confidence is going to be ridiculously high.  i guess that can't be a bad thing...

It is
a strange, unfamiliar position to be in. As I keep saying, the Giants are underdogs in this game. They have a puncher's chance, but it would still be a pretty big upset if they win.

And I think the Giants realize this
As McQuarters said a few days ago "Dallas is still Dallas".
