Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Washington DC

A while back it seemed like there were a lot of people on here from the DC area.  Where does everyone go to watch the games?  Allegedly the 51st State is supposed to be a "New York" bar but for no reason other then they thought they could make money like that.  I haven't checked it out yet.  Anyone know any good Giant's Bars?  Here's hoping Coughlin keeps the Run N' Gun in check for another week.

No "Giants bars" that I know of...
but one of the most fun places I've gone to watch football is Grand Slam Sports Pub in the Hyatt at 10th and H NW.  Good food, a DJ, lots of TVs.  It's actually a "Cowboys bar," but there is decent representation of most teams.  And I doubt the Cowboys fans will be there en masse this week.  Even if they are, they're generally quite funny and are always down for some good natured ribbing.

oh, one more thing
I've never been to 51st State for football, but I've been there for happy hour and was thoroughly unimpressed.

Other places to consider are Rocket Bar in Chinatown and Buffalo Billiards in Dupont.

those are all pretty good bars
51st State is definitely good too tho.  ive been there for mets games and they had it on every tv.  never been there for giants games but i really like the place.

it also depends on what neighborhood you'll be in.  i live in arlington and just started going to the Rhodeside Grill in Courthouse.  I find it to be excellent.

Bailey's
I usually wind up at Bailey's in Ballston just because they have four rooms with different audio, so I can usually get the Audio for the Giant game.  There's usually a pretty good size crowd of Giant's fans, but it's insane to get in there during playoffs.

I'm live in Bethesda
and I've been looking for a NYG bar in DC for the past 2 seasons now. Since this season's almost over, and I already have plans to watch tomorrow's game & I'm going to a SB party, finding one now won't do me any good, but maybe the DC readers of this blog can try to find a good sports bar and establish it as our own NYG bar for next season, and can let other New Yorkers know about it. Preferably something close to a Metro (aka, not Georgetown!). Heck, I'd even be willing to let Jets fans come along, as long as I don't have to keep going to the stupid Eagles bar in Clarendon that my college friend from Philly always drags me to.
